Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) has joined the growing number of associations that support the construction industry's ConsensusDOCS.
Released Sept. 28, 2007, ConsensusDOCS was designed to increase efficiency in contract negotiations and project execution. Written by, and for owners, contractors, subcontractors, designers, and sureties, ConsensusDOCS includes more than 70 contracts and forms and addresses all project delivery methods. The Associated General Contractors of America (ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥), Construction Users Roundtable (CURT), Construction Owners Association of America (COAA) and National Association of State Facilities Administrators (NASFA) are the lead organizations in this collaboration of construction industry and client groups.
"The first step to making the construction channel more efficient is to have better communication and more collaboration among its various participants. That is why NAED's Board is excited to have the association take part in the ConsensusDOCS program," said Tom Naber, president of NAED. "It is our opportunity to sit down with manufacturers, contractors, and others contributing to the program and produce documents that are understandable and reasonable for all the parties in the construction process."
