SAN DIEGO - The Associated General Contractors of America (ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥) today announced the new officers who have been selected to lead the nation's largest construction trade association. J. Doug Pruitt, chairman and chief executive officer of Sundt Construction Inc., Tempe, Ariz., will serve as president; Ted Aadland, president of Aadland Evans Constructors, Inc., Portland, Ore., will serve as senior vice president; Kristine Young, CEO of Miller the Driller, Des Moines, Iowa, will serve as vice president; and Samuel Hutchinson, president of Interface Construction Corp., St. Louis, Mo., will serve as treasurer.
Pruitt will lead the officers in a national effort to improve the productivity of the nation's construction companies, oversee the group's advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry and help builders weather today's challenging economic conditions. The officers will serve in these positions until March 2010, at which point Aadland will move into the position of president.
ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ is the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States, and represents more than 33,000 firms, including 7,500 of America's leading general contractors, and over 12,500 specialty-contracting firms. More than 13,000 service providers and suppliers are associated with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ through a nationwide network of 95 chapters. ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ represents contractors on Capitol Hill, and within federal agencies and the courts, in addition to providing the latest educational resources technological tools of the trade.
